Introduction
Edward Gal

Edward started riding at the age of fourteen and end nineties his career went rapidly. In 1998 he finished fourth in the Pavo Cup with Kappuccino. He won the National NBVR Championships at fourth level and in the ZZ-Licht with this horse. Between 1999 and 2001 Edward finished second four times at the National Championships in Nijmegen (3x Small Tour and 1x ZZ-Licht), the year after he won the gold with Gestion Lingh in the Small Tour.

Since 1999 Edward competes at international competitions and in the beginning he was prizewinning a lot in the Small Tour. He was invited for the Gestion Team of Ad Strating. He realized all the expectations and schooled several horses up to Grand Prix level. Risky Business, Kappuccino, Gribaldi and Lingh were highs corers in the Grand Prix.

The first time Edward became a member of the national A-squad was in 2003 with Lingh. He competed at the European Championships that year, but did not reach the individual final. The team did not win a medal either. In 2004 they finished second in the World Cup Final in Düsseldorf, won the gold at the Dutch National Championships and became team members for the Olympics in Athens. Due to bad luck (injury of the horse) they could not compete there. In 2005 Edward and Lingh won the Grand Prix of the World Cup Final and were second in the final result (Las Vegas). After they gained the silver medal at the National Championships, Lingh was sold to American rider Karin Reid Offield. Later on Edward was also successfull at Grand Prix level with the KWPN stallion IPS Gribaldi.

Together with Nicole Werner, Edward runs a dressage yard in the Gelders village of Harskamp, where also his partner Hans Peter Minderhoud is based. Edward did secondary school, after that MDS and one year Economic and Administrative University, but then chose for a career with horses. At the moment he competes Sisther de Jeu, Interfloor Next One, IPS Gribaldi and Moorland's Totilas at Grand Prix level. With Sisther de Jeu and Moorland's Totilas he is in the A-squad and with Next One in the B-squad. Both A-squad horses were already true eye catchers in the Small Tour. Moorland's Totilas made a fabulous debut at Grand Prix level at the Expo On Horse show in Hengelo in 2008 at the age of 8. In both the winter and summer of 2009 Edward and Totilas won the Dutch National Seniors Championships. In 2010 he became again Dutch champion with Moorlands Totilas.

At the 2009 European Championships in Windsor Edward was not only with Moorlands Totilas member of the golden Dutch team with a world record in the Grand Prix (84.085%), but he won also individual gold in the Freestyle with a new world record (90,75%) and individual silver in the Grand Prix Spécial!

With IPS United and Stradivarius Edward competes in the Small Tour. Since April 2008 Moorland Investments is the new main sponsor of Edward Gal. This contract lasts until the World Equestrian Games in 2010.
